The Crowned Heads La Imperiosa Magicos brings the celebrated 2014 Las Calaveras blend into regular production in a compact short robusto format. Rolled at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua, it pairs a dark, oily Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan long filler.
This classic García-family combination marks a distinct departure from Crowned Heads’ earlier Carrillo-made cigars. At 4 1/2 inches with a 52 ring gauge, the Magicos delivers a concentrated smoking experience in well under an hour.
Tasting notes
An opening burst of spice settles into a medium-full to full profile of roasted nuts, black pepper, bread, charred oak and coffee. Peanut-butter or cocoa sweetness rounds out the finish. Construction is typically even, with a firm grey ash.
