The Gurkha Royal Challenge Toro offers a creamy, mild-to-medium expression of the Royal Challenge line. Produced in the Dominican Republic, this 6-inch × 50 cigar combines an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper with a Honduran Habano binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler.
Presented as a box of three Toro Tubo cigars, it is a choice for an unhurried break of around 50 minutes per cigar, with evolving flavour that never turns heavy.
Tasting notes
Butter, wood and cream open the profile, sometimes following a brief flash of cedar and pepper. Nuts, vanilla and a light citrus or berry sweetness develop as the smoke progresses. Spice and cedar move forward in the second half, maintaining the blend’s lighter character.
Cigar Insider awarded the Toro 87 points, highlighting dry wood, toast and a nutty, smoky finish.
