Culebra – The Chinchalero
Culebra – The Chinchalero
About the Cigar
The Culebra is one of the most visually striking and historically fascinating formats in the cigar world. Three Panatela-sized cigars twisted together and tied with ribbon, the Culebra was traditionally rolled by cigar factory workers as a daily allowance — a clever way to ensure they smoked only their permitted ration and didn't pocket straight cigars. Today, it's a rare and theatrical format that turns heads and sparks conversation.
The Chinchalero Culebra brings this tradition to life using premium Nicaraguan tobaccos from the Jalapa valley, crafted at the Chinchalero factory in Estelí. Untwist the three cigars, share two with friends, or smoke them in sequence — either way, it's an experience as much as a smoke.
Tasting Notes
A medium to full-bodied smoke with excellent complexity across the three cigars.
- First third: Rich cedar, roasted nuts, and a touch of dark fruit.
- Mid-palate: Dark chocolate and espresso notes develop, with a creamy texture.
- Final third: Building pepper spice and leather, with a long, satisfying finish.
Each of the three cigars smokes slightly differently as they warm up — part of what makes the Culebra format such a rewarding experience.

Bourbon Pairing

The richness and complexity of the Chinchalero Culebra calls for a bourbon with depth and character — something that can stand up to the chocolate, leather, and building spice without overwhelming the nuance.
- Elijah Craig Small Batch — Dark caramel, toasted oak, and vanilla complement the chocolate and espresso notes beautifully. A natural match.
- Four Roses Single Barrel — Fruity, spicy, and full-bodied enough to keep pace with the cigar's complexity through all three sticks.
