The lightest and most approachable of the Cellar Reserves — a brilliant anytime smoke. Connecticut cream over a little Nicaraguan salt and toast.

• Pre-light: Nilla wafer, vanilla bean, roasted coffee, wet leather, faint blackberry
• First third: Sweet chocolate, cream, wet wood, then a distinctive salty/meaty turn with toasted wafer
• Second third: Orange zest, dried fruit, cashew, pine, cream coating the palate
• Final third: Nutty burnt coffee, roasted corn, cream returning as the salt fades
• Pair with: Coffee — cream and nut notes are a natural match

2. Gurkha 35th Anniversary

Wrapper: Habano (Ecuadorian)  |  Binder: Indonesian  |  Strength: Medium

A celebration blend — Habano cocoa and cedar with an Indonesian binder's woody-floral lift. Less pepper than most Nicaraguan-forward cigars.

• Pre-light: Cedar, floral perfume, mild spice, cocoa
• First third: Toasted cedar, earth, brief black pepper on the retrohale, then cocoa and leather
• Second third: Cream, almonds, coffee, baking spice, roasted chestnut, honey on the finish
• Final third: Cocoa, leather, cedar; coffee and honey on a well-rested stick
• Pair with: Light rum or espresso — don't overpower the honey/almond finish

3. Gurkha Cellar Reserve 15 Year

Wrapper: Dominican Criollo '98  |  Binder: Dominican Olor  |  Strength: Medium to Medium-Full

The most "aged Dominican puro" smoke in the bundle — creamy, oaky, and refined rather than aggressive.

• Pre-light: Honey, barnyard, cedar, light floral sweetness; cold draw is nutty and creamy
• First third: Leather and a flash of black pepper, then brown sugar, shortbread, milk chocolate, and oak
• Second third: Mixed nuts with honey glaze, plum/cherry, toasted wood, and earth; creaminess builds
• Final third: Leather, mocha, coffee, dried fruit, and a dry oak finish; vanilla lingers on a well-rested stick
• Pair with: Rye whiskey or a Speyside malt — the rye pulls baking spice out of the finish

4. Gurkha Dragonfly

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano  |  Binder: Cameroon / Sumatra  |  Strength: Medium to Medium-Full

The most international blend in the bundle — Habano spice, Cameroon sweetness, mixed-origin filler for coffee and cocoa.

• Pre-light: Fine wood, bitter cocoa, earth, ground coffee, nuts, light honey
• First third: Mild coffee, white pepper, caramelized sweetness, milk cocoa, honey, vanilla, nutty wood
• Second third: Darker cocoa, leather, soft spice, honey, mineral notes, floral tones
• Final third: Dark chocolate, black pepper, clove, espresso — smoke stays creamy
• Pair with: Medium-roast coffee or a lightly sweet rum

5. Gurkha Cellar Reserve 18 Year

Wrapper: Corojo  |  Binder: Dominican  |  Strength: Medium to Medium-Full (fuller than the 15)

Same cellar philosophy as the 15, louder wrapper. Corojo adds spice, espresso, and roasted-nut depth.

• Pre-light: Cocoa, leather, mocha, grass, aged wood
• First third: Leather, wood, white pepper; earth, fig, and cocoa underneath
• Second third: Espresso, roasted nuts, graham cracker, cedar, cinnamon; coffee and vanilla emerge
• Final third: Mocha, leather, barnyard hay, white pepper; caramel and dried fruit on a rested stick
• Pair with: Aged rum — cocoa, brown sugar, and hazelnut in the glass line up perfectly with the Corojo

6. Gurkha Colección Especial Maduro

Wrapper: Nicaraguan  |  Binder: Nicaraguan  |  Strength: Medium to Medium-Full (edges toward full)

The puro closer. Dark wrapper, earth and nuts first, sweetness on the leaf rather than the filler.

• Pre-light: Sweet earth, barnyard, campfire, chocolate frosting, oak, cereal/grain
• First third: Earth (barnyard, mineral, wet soil), praline, rice cake, cream, white pepper
• Second third: Leather, grains, burnt coffee, oak, salt; nuttiness and chocolate on the finish
• Final third: Earth, leather, toast, grain, rising spice — strength edges toward full
• Pair with: A bold rum or dark beer — this Nicaraguan puro will flatten a delicate drink

Smoke them light to dark for the full sensory arc:

Give the Cellar Reserves extra rest if they taste sharp in the first third — those aged Dominican fillers round out beautifully at 65–69% RH. The 21 and the 35th are the safest anytime smokes; the 18 and the Maduro want an evening and a drink.
