The Gurkha Grand Reserve Robusto is the flagship of Gurkha’s cognac-infused line, combining aged tobacco with a distinctive spirit-led profile. Rolled in the Dominican Republic, it features a Connecticut Shade wrapper aged for five years over a Dominican binder aged for three years and Dominican filler.
Each cigar is infused with cognac and sealed in a glass tube to help retain the infusion. Although Gurkha names this format a Robusto, its dimensions are 6 inches with a 50 ring gauge. This listing contains five cigars.
Tasting notes
Mild to medium in strength, the profile is led by sweet brandy, followed by cream, vanilla and light oak, with natural tobacco in the background. As the smoke develops, the wood character can become more reminiscent of a barrel than cedar.
