The YAGUA is not just a cigar — it is a living piece of history. Inspired by a story shared over dinner in Estelí, Nicaragua, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has recreated a century-old Cuban tradition: rolling cigars without moulds or presses, then binding them together with strips of the Cuban royal palm tree — the yagua — while still wet. The result? Every cigar emerges with its own distinct, natural shape. No two are alike.
"After hearing Lazaro describe the beautiful Yagua cigars he remembers from his youth in Cuba, I asked Lazaro if he could make this special cigar at our factory in Nicaragua," said Drew Newman, Fourth Generation Owner. "Because the cigars are pressed together and bound while they are still wet, each one has a slightly different shape. Each cigar is truly unique."

The Release
J.C. Newman is releasing just 1,000 boxes from its aging rooms. Each box contains 20 cigars, hand-rolled exactly as Lazaro Lopez's grandfather did a century ago in Cuba. Once they're gone, they're gone.
Rich, complex, and utterly individual — the YAGUA is a collector's cigar and a smoker's reward.
