Mezcal Amarás Logia Cenizo | 46% Abv | 30ml Sample
Mezcal Amarás Logia Cenizo — a rare and expressive artisanal mezcal from Nombre de Dios, Durango, crafted from 100% wild-harvested Cenizo agave (Agave durangensis).
This 30ml sample is the perfect introduction to one of Mexico's most distinctive mezcal expressions. Cenizo agave takes up to 14 years to mature in the high-altitude terrain of Durango, resulting in a spirit of extraordinary depth and character.
What Makes Logia Cenizo Different
Logia Cenizo is crafted using a particular recipe that uses local mesquite and huisache wood when cooked. It is then milled with an axe — a process that takes five times longer — requiring 30 to 33 lbs of agave to produce just one litre of mezcal. Finally, it is distilled in a copper still with a wooden cap, which stamps the last and decisive notes into the elixir.
100% Natural Fermentation
All fermentation occurs naturally with no sulphites, in open-air vats using wild yeast native to the environment.
Tasting Notes
Subtly perfumes the nose with a refined hint of citrus fruits combined with earthy and smoky notes. This continues with a bold and intense roast coffee bean flavour, finishing with a touch of wooden zest and a trace of sweet raisins.
